Dit is de Gelderse lineup voor ESNS 2024

Van 17 tot en met 20 januari 2024 vindt het jaarlijkse festival Eurosonic Noorderslag (ESNS) plaats in Groningen. Tijdens het showcasefestival zijn verschillende Gelderse acts te zien en ook in het conferentieprogramma komen Gelderse professionals aan bod. Wij zetten het Gelderse aandeel aan ESNS voor je op een rijtje. Zien we je daar?

ESNS Showcases

Iron Jinn
De Achterhoekse supergroep Iron Jinn bestaat uit leden van o.a. Birth Of Joy, The Devil’s Blood en Shaking Godspeed. Het gezelschap bracht afgelopen jaar zijn debuutalbum uit, dat vol staat met intense, meeslepende donkere rock met betoverende grooves, melodieën en harmonieën.

Pinguin Showcases

Traditiegetrouw staat niet alleen ESNS zelf in het teken van opkomend talent, maar is er ook een uiteenlopend randprogramma vol aanstormende acts. Tijdens de Pinguin Showcases in de Drie Gezusters presenteren spelers als Music Maker, Popsport, IGNITE! Music, ArtEZ en andere organisatoren de meest uiteenlopende acts.

Zo host Nieuwe Electronische Waar, het platform voor elektronische muziek uit Oost-Nederland, in de nacht van 19 op 20 januari een showcase in de Draaibar met dj-sets en livesets van: ITSHE, |grens|, Bastian Benjamin en Sam Waitin. Meer info vind je hier.

Conferentie

Naast het showcasefestival bestaat het programma van ESNS uit een conferentie waar professionals met elkaar in gesprek gaan over actuele onderwerpen in de muziekindustrie. Diverse Gelderse professionals komen aan het woord tijdens deze panelgesprekken:

EU support to Music – from EU prize for music to Music Moves Europe and beyond
Distinguished speakers from the European Commission and music industry professionals share their perspectives on the EU’s role in support of music, talent and diversity and their experience working on these projects.

Celebration of ETEP Exchange 20 Years
It has been 20 years since the ETEP Exchange was launched and in that time the program has helped hundreds of European acts to gain broader recognition and start building a fanbase. To mark the occasion the ETEP Exchange’s partners will give you an insight on the program, alongside an appearance by several artists who have been part of the program.

Touring 101 – From that first idea to a sold out show
Manager, booking agent, label representative, promotion manager & tourmanager: all essential in the process of setting up a tour. How do they work together? Who makes which calls and who is the boss? Our panellists and the audience will work with the fictional band The Speculations and dive into the step by step process of selling out their first show.

Activisme kun je leren
De popsector staat bekend als betrokken en activitistisch. Toch? Vreemd genoeg zijn er op dit moment méér dan genoeg acute aanleidingen waar we ons grote zorgen over kunnen maken, maar zijn er nauwelijks kritische geluiden of statements vanuit de popsector. Of zien/horen we het niet? Of is het niet (meer) relevant?
